Signing in and finding a course

Use the sign-in method provided by your course team. A course appears in My learning when your account has access. If your course is missing or access has ended, contact your course coordinator.

For an authorized pilot, use the shared name and password supplied by the course team. Choose Start new for your own profile, or Continue on this browser to return to a profile you created earlier. Each profile has its own progress; the shared sign-in does not combine everyone's work.

Continue using the same browser and profile. Clearing the pilot cookie, using a private-browsing session or switching browsers can prevent you from recovering that profile. On a shared computer, sign out and remove this site's pilot cookie when finished. See the pilot cookie information.

Watching lecture recordings

Open a recording in your course and press Play. Use the player's controls to pause, seek, adjust volume or enter full screen. Where captions are provided, enable them in the player.

Your playback position is saved during playback and when you pause or seek, provided the site can be reached. Returning with the same account or pilot profile resumes an unfinished recording. A recording watched to the end opens at the beginning for replay. Replaying does not remove its completion status.

If a recording is not available yet, the course team may still be preparing it. If a ready recording will not play, check your connection and sign-in, then reload the page. If the problem continues, contact the course team with the lecture title and the error message.

Practical work and notebooks

Follow the instructions on the practical's activity page. If a complete lab package is provided, keep its folders and supporting files together. Use the computing environment specified by the course team; a separate JupyterHub service may require its own sign-in.

For notebook submissions, upload the requested .ipynb file and follow the size limit shown on the submission form. Check the page for confirmation that your submission was received. Brightspace remains the official gradebook.

Getting help

Contact your course coordinator through the contact details in your course instructions or Brightspace. Include the course, activity title, page address, what you tried and the error message or a screenshot. Never send passwords, sign-in links, cookie values or identifiable patient data.

For keyboard access, captions or an alternative format, see Accessibility. For questions about your profile or learning records, use the contacts in the privacy notice.
