Navigation and reading

Use the Skip to main content link at the start of each page to move past navigation. Use Tab and Shift+Tab to move between links, buttons and form fields, and your browser's zoom controls to enlarge text. Navigation menus and buttons can be operated with the keyboard.

Pages use headings and labelled form controls to support navigation with assistive technology. If a control, message or course document is difficult to use, report the page and the task you were trying to complete.

Lecture recordings and captions

Recordings use your browser's video player controls. Available captions can be enabled in the player; keyboard shortcuts depend on the browser. Caption availability and accuracy vary by recording.

If captions are missing or inaccurate, or you need a transcript or an explanation of information shown only visually, contact the course team to request an alternative.

Notebooks and other course materials

Notebooks, downloadable files and external computing environments may have different accessibility features. Let the course team know if a practical, figure or file format prevents you from completing an activity, so an appropriate alternative can be discussed.

Report a barrier or request an alternative

Contact your course coordinator using the details in your course instructions or Brightspace. Include the page address, activity title, the barrier and the format or assistance you need. If useful, mention your browser or assistive technology. You do not need to provide a medical diagnosis to describe an access problem.
